Alicia Fleming Obituary, Death – It is with a heavy heart and deep sorrow that we share the heartbreaking news of the passing of an extraordinary soul, Alicia de la Mothe Fleming. Alicia, a loving wife, best friend, and kindred spirit for nearly 47 years, quietly and peacefully departed from this world on Friday, October 6, 2023, at 10:30 PM, at Mount Sinai-St Luke’s Hospital in upper Manhattan, after bravely battling inoperable lung cancer.

Alicia’s presence in our lives was a source of immeasurable joy, love, and inspiration. She touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Her enduring spirit, unwavering love, and kind nature left an indelible mark on all of us.

Throughout her life, Alicia practiced Buddhism for over two decades, and her faith was a guiding light. During her final hours, Sheiline McGraw, a close friend and Buddhist leader, visited her and chanted for her comfort. Alicia, though unable to communicate verbally, nodded in assent, finding solace in her friend’s presence and words.

Alicia was born in Brooklyn in 1946, the eldest of seven siblings. She was a proud graduate of NYU and earned her Master’s in Clinical Social Work from Hunter College, NYC, which laid the foundation for her fulfilling career as a psychotherapist. Her work was not just a profession; it was a calling she wholeheartedly embraced.

The pain of losing Alicia is immeasurable, and her absence leaves an irreplaceable void in our lives. While we mourn her passing, we take solace in knowing that she is now at peace and in a better place.

One day, we will be reunited with Alicia, and until then, we shall hold onto the cherished memories of her love, kindness, and enduring spirit.
