As soon as Mickey Joseph Mugshot surfaced internet former Nebraska Interim Coach made several headlines creating hype among the football audiences following his arrest. 

Mickey Joseph is a renowned American football coach and former player who has created a buzz on the internet after he was accused of domestic violence.

The former interim head coach at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln served as wide receivers coach and the associate head coach at Louisiana State University (LSU) for more than five years, from 2017 to 2021.

Sources assert Mickey and a Marrero native began his career as a capable backup while attending Archbishop Shaw High School.

He spent his first and second seasons playing behind starters Steve Taylor and Gerry Gdowski.

The football player had to skip playing quarterback for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats of the Canadian Football League because of a leg injury he had while playing for Nebraska.

At 5-foot-10 inches tall and elegant, Mickey would have been a good fit for the position.

 According to Athletic, former interim coach Mickey Joseph was arrested on suspicion of strangulation and domestic assault on November 30, 2022. Mickey was lodged in Lancaster County jail.

The domestic incident in question, according to Lincoln Police, was at home near S. 34th Street and Tree Line Drive.

Following the investigation and shreds of evidence collected, Police took Mickey into custody at a separate location.

Additional information, such as the victim’s identity and any injuries, are made public by Lincoln Police following Nebraska state law and to protect the victim in this case.

In an interview, Trev Alberts, an associate head coach, revealed the allegations after the firing of Scott Frost.

Based on the University policy, the former Nebraska coach has been placed on administrative leave.

Why Is Mickey Joseph Arrested?

Based on the inspection, Joseph was handcuffed at a separate location on suspicion of strangulation and third-degree domestic assault.

According to a press release by the Lincoln Police Department,Police were dispatched at 1:54 pm to a residence in south Lincoln on November 28, 2022.

The former coach played quarterback for Nebraska for four years under Tom Osborne and has more than 20 years of coaching experience.

On a domestic disturbance, authorities took the coach into custody around 2 pm near South 34th and Tree Line Drive.

The Lincoln Police Department’s log on Wednesday evening showed officers were called to the area on a report someone had pushed, choked, punched a victim, and pulled the victim’s hair.

What Are Mickey Joseph Charges?

Following the arrest, Mickey faced charges of third-degree domestic assault and strangulation.

According to Mark Sherman, third-degree strangulation or suffocation is a Class A misdemeanor charged up to a $2,000 fine, a year in jail, and a maximum of two years of probation.

When Police reach the scene of a domestic quarrel, they usually charge strangling in the third degree.
